Hello and welcome to episode 16, which is part two of a 2-part series on overcoming mold illness using holistic approaches and I am once again joined by Allana McKinnon, a fellow FDN-P and friend.

Allana is a Certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition® Practitioner and Certified Gluten-Free Practitioner. She works one-on-one with clients suffering from autoimmunity, Celiac, gluten-related disorders, gut dysfunction, stealth infections, mold illness and biotoxin illness, hormone imbalances, and detoxification.

She helps her clients find out WHY they feel sick with functional lab testing and detailed health history. Based on the findings, she creates a custom natural protocol with a focus on nutrition, targeted supplements, lifestyle techniques and mind/body techniques to find symptom relief and reversal of chronic illness.

Because Allana has been through her own mold illness journey, she understands the often non-linear, frustrating and invalidating world of mold illness. Within her online-based Functional Health practice, She takes a practical approach to help her clients lower mold exposure and heal from the extreme toxic after-effects.

In part I of this 2-part series, Allana and I cover:

  • An overview of Allana's personal story with mold-related illness

  • The most important things to know about mold illness

  • The most common risk factors for and symptoms of mold illness and when one should suspect mold toxicity as a root cause of their ongoing health challenges

  • Why mold illness is becoming more and more prevalent

  • Why is it so common for mold illness to go undetected for a long time for many people

  • What type of doctor or health specialist works with mold illness

  • Insurance coverage for mold-related health issues

  • What seems to be the standard of care when it comes to helping people overcome mold illness and why it is not near enough

In this episode, we take a deep dive into discussing:

  • Whether or not mold illness can be overcome with a 100% natural, holistic approach or if a more integrative approach is needed

  • An overview of a step-by-step holistic approach for overcoming mold illness

  • What radical mold avoidance is and whether or not it is a practical, necessary, and healthy approach to healing mold has on the body, mind, and spirit.
